I decided to build a foldable longboard after traveling around on an electric skateboard for a while, and thought I should try something new that wasn't just a simple fold down the middle. So I made a longboard that was collapsible instead, I had some other aspirations originally which I detailed in some videos. The concept went through a few iterations, as I was trying to figure out the best way to build it for scaled manufacturing, since I ultimately wanted to launch it as a product on kickstarter.
I eventually went with a more refined, simpler design, while still retaining functionality. This concept was better, but it still suffered from structural integrity issues with the 3D printed mounts on the bottom failing to hold shock loads. Ultimately, I moved on from the idea, but it was valuable in understanding the importance of what I was learning in my classwork.
