This project is one of my all-time favorites. With my master’s graduation approaching, I was starting to explore full-time job opportunities. The application process felt impersonal—I’d applied to countless positions with a standard resume, and I felt my time could be put to better use. I was especially interested in Joby Aviation and thought it would be exciting to try to capture their attention by building and flying a small-scale model of the S4. Confident in my ability to make it happen, I spent 2-3 weeks on the project, including editing the video. Just about an hour after I uploaded the video, I received the first messages from Joby employees, and within a few short weeks, I was interviewing in person. The immense passion I felt during that visit was inspiring, making the decision to join Joby an easy one. And the rest is history!
